Jessica is one of the most positive, optimistic, and enthusiastic people I know. She is a two-time Ironman finisher, the most recent being Ironman Canada, which she rocked! She lives and trains in Houston (flat, flat, flat), yet Ironman Canada was a race in the mountains (obviously not flat!). She finished strong and with that infectious Jessica smile.

Jackie from California traveled all the way to South Africa with a Nuts and Glory granola bar and snapped this photo at the Muratie Estate Winery in Stellenbosch. I met Jackie in the summer of 2014 on a cycling trip through Washington, British Columbia, and Idaho. A spirited, beautiful, brilliant light of a lady, she was a fearless 70-something who was an inspiration both on and off the bicycle. Shortly after she returned from her trip to Africa, she passed away unexpectedly. Her son Neil found this photo on her camera and shared it with me. You live on in many, many hearts Jackie.
